Printer and Copier
Print from any library computer at the rate of: Color $0.25/pg B&W $0.10/pg The copier makes B&W copies at the rate of $0.10/pg or color copies for $0.25 each. Scanning Scan to email or flashdrive for free! Notary Notary services are available. Please call ahead before visiting for availability and pricing. Fax Fax anywhere in the USA. NJ and 800 area codes are $1/pg for the first 5 pages, and $0.25 for each additional page. All other area codes are $2 for the first page, $1 for the second, third, fourth, and fifth pages, and $0.25 for each additional page. Cash only. TXT Notifications Patrons can now receive text notifications for overdue material and the status of requested items. To opt in to this service, contact the library or sign in to your BCCLS account and update the settings under "Contact Information and Preferences." Senior Outreach Services Our staff understands the importance of reading for our patrons, and that's especially true for those unable to physically visit the library. If you are or know of a senior who is housebound, please speak to a staff member about the possibility of book drop-off/pick-up services. |
Get a Library Card
Eligibility
All East Rutherford residents are eligible for a East Rutherford Memorial Library Card. We require current proof of address such as a valid NJ driver's license or a New Jersey identification card with current address or valid photo ID and a current property tax bill. You may also use valid photo ID and TWO of the following:
P.O. Box addresses are not acceptable. Children are welcome to have their own Library Card. A parent / legal guardian must come in to obtain a card for children between ages 5 - 18 and show the above identification. A parent / legal guardian must also have a East Rutherford Memorial Library Card. The parent / legal guardian is responsible for all items taken out on the child’s card. East Rutherford Memorial Library Cards are issued for 3 years. You will need to show proof of current residency when renewing your card. Lost Cards Any items checked out on a lost/stolen card before notification to the library of the problem are the responsibility of the patron whose name appears on the library card. The fee to replace a lost card is $3.00. |
Public Computers
Public Computers
There are 3 public computers located on the Main Floor for adult and 2 public computers for teens. There are 2 public computers located in the Children's Department. All computers have Microsoft Office 2010 or higher installed. Computer Sessions Patrons are entitled to 30 minutes of computer use per day with 1 renewal, wait lists permitting, for a total of 60 minutes per day. Wireless Internet Wireless access is available throughout the Library. iPads There are 2 iPads in the Children's Room and 2 iPads on the Main Floor for teens & adults. Laptops There are laptops available for checkout for in-library use. Inquire at the front desk for more information. Borrowing TimesBooks
Most books can be borrowed for 28 days with 2 renewals. Some newer items, holiday titles, or program-specific titles may be held to a 2-week borrow with 1 renewal. DVDs/Blu-Rays/Audiobooks/Video Games Up to 4 new release/high demand items can be borrowed for 7 days with 1 renewal. Older titles can be borrowed for 14 days with 2 renewals. You may have a total of 8 ERML movies on your library card at one time. Video Games are limited to 4 per person. Specialty items, like our growing Library of Things, hotspots, museum passes, etc. have specific borrowing limits/times. Please see the individual pages for the details on those items. Our system will auto-renew renewable items AS LONG AS THERE ARE NO HOLDS PENDING. Check your record online or call the library and we will be happy to verify renewal eligibility. Overdue fees for books are $.10/day. Media overdue fines are $1/day. Fines for specialty items will vary and can be found on the individual pages. |
