Museum Pass Policy
The Museum Pass Program allows East Rutherford residents or those individuals that own property in East Rutherford, 18 and over, free admission to nearby museums by borrowing our membership passes. Patrons must possess valid library cards in good standing (no fine or overdue items).
Patrons must present the East Rutherford Memorial Library Card used to reserve the museum pass and show I.D. when picking it up.
Passes are reserved on a first-come, first served basis.
Passes can be reserved up to 60 days in advance, but only one museum may be reserved at a time.
Patrons must bring a $40.00 cash deposit (exact change) when picking up the pass, which will be refunded when the pass is returned on time.
General passes are loaned for three days, including the day the pass is to be picked up.
Please be respectful of other families who may wish to use the passes by returning them on time. Patrons not returning passes at least ONE HOUR PRIOR TO CLOSING will forfeit the $40.00 deposit fee. If the passes are not returned at all the day they are due, an additional $5.00/day late fee will be charged.
After 2 weeks, in addition to the fees listed, patrons will also be responsible for the replacement fee of the museum pass(s) and will lose their pass privileges for the remainder of the calendar year.
Disposable, non-reusable passes, such as the American Museum of Natural History passes, are limited to 2 vouchers per family per year and do not require a deposit. A specific date of visit is required and must be no longer than 14 days in advance.
Passes must be returned to the Library no later than one hour prior to closing on its due date.
Passes cannot be returned in the book drop. Passes placed in the book drop will result in a loss of deposit.
Patrons that lose passes will be responsible for replacement fee of the pass/passes, as well as the loss of deposit for not returning the passes on time.
*Acceptance of this pass signifies agreement with Memorial Library's Museum Pass Policy, including forfeiture of deposit and the addition of any replacement costs should the pass be lost while in the patron's care. Patron agrees not to hold the Library responsible for any loss, damage, or legal liability.
