Memorial Library has updated our hours and no longer requires an appointment for browsing, drop off/pick up, and copy & fax services.
Walk ins are welcome!
Appointments are still necessary for computer use and notary.
We will discontinue doorside pickup, but patrons with concerns can request that option and staff will do their best to accommodate.

Memorial Library is ready to move to Phase 2 of our reopening plan. With safety precautions in place (safety shields at circulation desks, proper social distancing signage, patron hand sanitizing stations, scheduled disinfection of shared surfaces and equipment), patrons will be able to make an appointment for computer and copier use. Limited accessibility allows for these increased services while stringently following all public health safeguards.
A detailed plan for the following phases has also been approved and is available here. We will continue the Contactless Pick-up and virtual programming services as well. |
East Rutherford Memorial Library continues to offer Contactless pick-up and drop-off services, which we're happy to see many patrons taking advantage of. We have made high demand items holdable and increased borrowing periods to allow patrons full access to all our materials through online and phone ordering. We continue to interact with our patrons through virtual programming, a vigorous social media and web presence, and timely chat/email/phone response.
Plexiglas shields and other safety precautions are being put in place to meet State and Federal requirements for re-opening our space to the public. Once we are assured we are in full compliance and have taken every measure to ensure the health and safety of our patrons and staff, we will open our doors once again.

Update of 7/16/2020
New Jersey has lifted the ban on libraries, allowing specific services to begin - with restrictions - as of June 15, 2020. Memorial Library will begin contactless pickup/drop-off on that date. (Please click here for more details.) We remain determined to provide relevant online content and continue to increase our virtual programming as we work toward full operations.

As of May 18, Governor Murphy announced his staged plan for reopening businesses and organizations. Libraries appear to be in Phase II.
(Click on the icon to the left to be taken to NJ.GOV's site and view the plan in detail.) Our library has already put in place steps to follow to allow library transactions to restart, a plan which takes into account public and staff safety and well-being. Once the executive order is lifted, we will notify our patrons which on-site library services can resume immediately and the expected timeline for other services to follow. |
